Dr. Andrew Seeds named Institute Director

Feb. 19, 2025. The Chancellor of the Medical Sciences Campus, Dr. Myrna L. Quiñones Feliciano, with the favorable recommendation of the Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Yasmín Pedrogo, appointed Dr. Andrew Seeds as Director of the Institute of Neurobiology. Dr. Seeds serves as faculty and over the years has demonstrated an unquestionable commitment to the mission of the Institute.
In the field of neurobiological research, he has stood out for his studies related to the area of how neurons in the brain connect to produce complex behaviors. In this field, Dr. Seeds is an internationally recognized neuroscientist who has distinguished himself by being a dedicated mentor, while advancing the frontiers of neurobiology by fostering the growth of the next generation of scientists. He currently holds an approved RO1 Grant. Dr. Seeds has the support of researchers and has developed an action plan to transform the Institute and elevate it to the highest levels as a cutting-edge academic and research center.
