Institute hosts workshop on care and handling of centrifuges

RCMI Core Laboratory Technician, Damaris Gavillán (center), recently trained students (right: Francheska Delgado), postdocs and faculty members (left: Dr. Jacqueline Flores-Otero) on the proper use of the Core Facility Centrifuge and Ultra Centrifuge. Topics covered in this training included: accuracy and precision in measurements of mass, calibration of manual pipettes, rotor balancing and maintenance, what can go wrong upon improper use of a centrifuge, and how to prevent accidents, among other topics.
