The Institute of Neurobiology co-sponsors 33rd Annual Puerto Rico Neuroscience Conference

December 6, 2025. The Institute of Neurobiology co-sponsored the 33rd Annual Puerto Rico Neuroscience Conference. Jaime Benítez Rexach Amphitheater, University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. The conference was attended by over 400 students and faculty from institutions across the island. Dr. Yancy Ferrer (photo) served as President of the Society and Organizing Committee Chair. Keynote speakers included: Dr. Dhananjay “DJ” Bambah-Mukku, Assistant Professor of Psychology, University of California, San Diego; Dr. Claudia Lugo-Candelas, Associate Professor of Medical Psychology, Columbia University; Dr. Robert Friedlander, Chair of Neurological Surgery, University of Pittsburgh; and Dr. Victor R. Ambros, University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Cristina Velázquez, Institute of Neurobiology investigator, introduced Dr. Ambros, 2024 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine.
